چکیده

As the 2nd report, we present a practical calculation method for torsional vibration of highly damped system with rubber couplings. This calculation system, constructed by a modal analysis technique, outputs frequency response characteristics, forced vibration responses, and mode animations. In respect of a damping model and calculation accuracy, it was verified that the assumption of general viscous damping, employed in this calculation, gives the satisfactory results close to those measured.

Investigation of Torsional Vibration Characteristics of Marine Diesel Engine Crankshaft System

Evaluation of the torsional vibration characteristics of a crankshaft system is indispensable to the development of marine diesel engines. It influences the selection or decision about shafting components such as the flywheel, torsional damper, generator and even modification of the crankshaft itself. In this paper, experimental and analytical investigations of torsional vibration were carried ...

Screening of Slow Speed Marine Diesel Propulsion Shafting Design Space

Original scientific paper In this paper a systematic exploration of a typical two-stroke slow speed marine diesel propulsion shafting design space is performed. First, a set of the four most influential design parameters is defined, consisting of shafting stiffness, propeller, turning wheel and tuning wheel mass moments of inertia. Then, a full set of 625 design points is defined. For each desi...

Some Aspects regarding Materials Used in Non-metallic Elements Construction of Elastic Couplings

This paper presents aspects regarding the construction of couplings with bolts using non-metallic elements, e.g. rubber, having different hardness, the elements involved in torque transmission, in this case elastic elements, having also different dimensions or forms, in the way to have a good elasticity and capacity of vibration absorbtion. In paper there are also presented: the construction of...

بکارگیری مدل های مختلف کوپل شدگی سیال - جسم برای بررسی مشخصه های ارتعاشی در ناحیه قفل شدگی

In this paper, several models of structure-fluid coupling are employed to investigate on the vibration behavior of the structure. Using basic equations of vibration and employing a mathematical model, a single degree of freedom system is analyzed. Some parameters of the mathematical model are obtained from test. To examine structure-flow interaction, coupled system of nonlinear second-order dif...

Surface Energy and Elastic Medium Effects on Torsional Vibrational Behavior of Embedded Nanorods

In this paper surface energy and elastic medium effects on torsional vibrational behavior of nanorods are studied. The surface elasticity theory is used to consider the surface energy effects and the elastic medium is modeled as torsional springs attached to the nanorod. At the next step, Hamilton’s principle is utilized to derive governing equations and boundary conditions. Then, with the aid ...
